Y90 AND Captem Combo

Posted by laree @laree, Jun 26, 2025

Pnets KI67 25%. My husband had 3 captems cycles. The last cycle had toxicity and became sick. Anyone experience Y90 procedure for Pnets mets to the liver? I have read many net patients use Captem to shrink tumors for a few cycles. Not sure why the Dr wants to dive into Y90 already. Unless it is because my husband got sick the last cycle of Captem. But didn't use anti nausea meds either, unfortunately. Anyone have good results with Y90 and was successful?

Has anyone else experienced, Gerd, swallowing problems, asphoguitis after a few months of Captem? Also High glucose, type 2 diabetes from chemo medication. Anyone having good results with Everlomis? Thank you for any thoughts.

@laree I had all of those issues from the cancer. None can be directly attributed to Captem.

I was on captem. 1st round I had low platelets. 2nd round low white blood count. I also ended up in ER with intense chest pain. I thought it was related to indigestion. It was GERD and esophagitis.
3rd round I had colon spasms so bad I almost fainted. My primary Dr gave me anti-spasm meds and suggested dietary changes. That helped. I also needed fluids.
Unfortunately, my tumors grew while on captem.

I’m now on FolFox. GI symptoms not as bad but I have really bad neuropathy in my hands and other annoying symptoms after 2 rounds. Don’t know yet whether it’s shrinking tumors.

I am sorry to hear of all of the side effects from the Captem treatment. It is good that you are having fewer GI problems with FolFox. When will you have a follow-up scan to see how well the FolFox is working?

Thanks for your note. I don’t have any date for a CT scan. They told me it’ll be a few months.

I too am glad I don’t have the G.I. problems with the infusions. But the pain in my hands is close to intolerable. So I’m not sure it’s any better.
