WRIST PAIN WITH BRUISING
Not sure correct group.
About 3 am this morning I awakened with a sharp pain in my inner wrist. It looked like bluish vein knot then. When I got up about 6:15 it appeared to be bruise. My grip is okay. Movement of typing hurts some or playing a game on iPad. Sharp pain if I bend my hand upward and back.
I had Tightrope Procedure surgery on my thumb in January 2020. A weakening from that surgery. Aging? I'm 70 years old. Did I sleep in some weird position? Is it a torn ligament/tendon?
Does not feel like a sprain… I sprained this wrist when I was in my 30s playing volleyball. I have not fallen in a few years and my instinct was to protect my ribs.. so no hands involved in any falls. I might have tucked my hand under my pillow. This morning my hand was by my side when I awoke.. but don't know where it was seconds before.
Anyone else experience this?
I will make an appointment with hand doctor.

We have a great physical therapy group in our town. I got my injured shoulder going again, saved my Arthritic hip, stability work for aging. They are experts in their assessment, professional in treatment, and I don’t need a dr referral to get treatment. They turned me on to my new best hand pain friend, K-tape!
Funny, I just recommended K-tape to my niece today in place of the brace that interferes with ability to work. I use it especially when doing activities where my splints are too much.
