Wound Vac (to treat a sepsis wound): Your experience?

I have been using a wound vac for going on four weeks to aid the healing of an 8" sepsis wound on the side of my left foot. The doctors and nurses treating the wound tell me it is responding well to my use of the vac. In addition to some residual leg weakness, balance difficulties, and shortness of breath, the foot wound remains my chief and most concerning sepsis symptom. I would welcome hearing from others who have had experience with wound vacs, whether presently using one or having used one in the past.
