Worsening cataracts or neuropathy issues, how do I know?
Last year, my eye doctor said I had cataracts in both eyes, but there's no cloudiness in them at all, and then I was diagnosed with periphal neuropathy the same year after the pins and needles got worse in my feet, now this year I find out Im prediabetic and the last few months, my vision is blurrier, my legs are getting pins, needles and occasional pain shooting from my right side big toe only. On top of all of this, the pins and needles started with my last Ischemic stroke in 2017. My question is how do I know what's causing what? My doctor prescribed gabapentin, but wont really address neuropathy treatment or make suggestions. Any ideas?

You’ve got a lot going on. Cataracts are easily treated with surgery.
Neuropathy is not curable, however there are things you can do to help with the symptoms. One thing that works for me is ALA. Alpha Lipoc Acid. I take 600mg twice a day. You can buy it in the vitamin section of the store.

I've had polyneuropathy for many years. Mostly I exercise almost every day, walking, weights, and working on balance help. It hasn't progressed beyond some loss of sensation and being able to feel pain in extremities, so I suspect it is related to my celiac disease rather than MGUS. It would be good to talk with a renal diatician regarding any changes regarding prediabetes (decrease meat protein, stay hydrated...).
