Worried about groin pain and lumps above clitoral area

Posted by audreajay111 @audreajay111, Oct 21, 2022

I'm 55 and had a lot of itching above the clitoral area in the last few months. I had been waking myself up during the night itching but put it down to the menopause. I haven't been sexually active for over 10 years. I have, in the last week become unwell after a burning, prickly feeling in my groin area. It felt like I was having a bout of shingles to be honest, due to fever and aching bones. Then noticed lumps under my skin on my public bone above the clitoral area. During the week they have become redish black like a blood blister but today I notice them weeping. Along with this I have had vaginal bleeding. This is more like when you come to the end of your period type blood. A brownish red. I'm still feeling unwell but I'm not able to see the Doctor for over a week.
I'm extremely concerned as I've been on my menopause for over 5 years and haven't been sexually active for over 10 years.
Can anyone help as I'm having different symptoms and the Internet is giving everything from Cancer to Syphilis!

This must be causing you a lot of concern, I know I would be worried. Given the advancing symptoms, and that you are feeling unwell, it may be time to ask for an emergency appointment with your doc or someone on staff (many places "save" an appointment or 2 each day for urgent situations)
Is that an option for you?

@sueinmn I have tried to get an earlier appointment. Just about begging the receptionist! But due to Covid outbreak the waiting list to see the Dr. is so long now. That is the earliest I could be fitted in unfortunately. I'm not sure what I can do! Thanks so much.

If you begin to feel worse before your appointment, can you visit an Urgency Center or Emergency Room?

@audreajay111 Have responded under private message. If unable to get to doctor then highly suggest going to emergency facility. The sooner the better because of the pain and possible spreading.

You need to go to your gynecologist asap!
