Why does my mom keep getting anxiety attacks?
For 4 weeks my mom age 42 has been getting these anxiety attacks that causes her legs to stop working, and her vision to get shaky. Many test have already been taken, and the doctor says that she is fine and healthy. We are just waiting for the neurologist to get back with us. Asides from that we have noticed that any symptoms that she reads on the medication that she takes she often will convince herself that she has the symptom. For example, she took this medicine at the hospital about 8 times but then at home when she took the medication she kept saying that she could feel her tongue swelling. keep in mind this was minutes after the medicine. We told her to think mind over matter and she quickly got over the “false symptom”. I would like to know if any of these events sound familiar to you or somone you know. I would also like to know what to do to resolve my Moms issues.

I’m really interested if you happened to find out what was happening with your mum, @aarona560? I hope she is doing better.
I wondered if a full nutritional work up and hormonal panels were done?
Also, there are medication interactions (as mentioned above) and neurocognitive testing that may illuminate reasons for brain dysfunction..maybe it’s worth thoroughly investigating these aspects?
There are also other diseases in the body organs or systems that can contribute to an impact on neurological function (resulting in toxicity, protein build up, or via other mechanisms), manifesting as behavioural changes..maybe this is worth looking into?
I would - like other commenters here - recommend a thorough physiological work up prior to investigating to see if psychological origins underpin her behavioural symptoms. But, I take it that by now this comment is a little behind the times!
If you’d like, please do post an update when ready 🙂
Have her try simply rubbing her earlobes when she starts getting anxious. I don't have big time anxiety but I worry a lot (which I suppose is the same thing), I only recently discovered that it helps; it's acts like a sort of accupuncture. I'm 82 years old and got stressed when my husband died after years of taking care of him with Parkinson's dementia and then my treatment for breast cancer.
