Who has been on Prolia and hasn’t had any bone density gains.

Hi @kristie2 . I'm supposed to start Evenity in a couple of weeks. My rheumatologist wants me to do 1-2 years of Prolia afterwards & then a few years of Reclast & then done. I don't want to do Prolia at all. The official Prescription Guide for Evenity has a chart with relative risk reduction for a new vertebral fracture & it states 73% reduction after one year of Evenity & a 75% reduction after one year of Evenity & then one year of Prolia. That doesn't sound like much of a difference that would encourage me to try Prolia. I hope you get more responses. I'd like to know, too.

I have to say that after taking Prolia for one year and my DEXA showed zero improvement. I guess that I fall in the category of 5% of people who fail with Prolia. The average gain is 5-6% in the first year. I would have never taken it if I knew. I was so against it but my endocrinologist convinced me that was the way to go. I must admit that I had no side effects and taking it for a short amount of time you’re not going to rebound when you switch to reclast. It seems to be the new protocol after taking Evenity. I had a great improvement with Evenity my T score in my spine was -4.6 after the year it was -3.3.
By the time you are do to take Prolia they may have a new protocol and it may work for you.

I was on Prolia for several years with minimal improvements before beginning Evenity (3 months now). I don’t know that going back on Prolia after I complete the 12 months of Evenity would be beneficial for me. I’ll have that discussion with my doctor before I complete the cycle of Evenity.

I most likely will go on reclast. Will find out tomorrow .
