Whipple and changes in cholesterol

Had my Whipple November 23. Seem to be doing well with Creon and eating but have discovered my cholesterol which before the Whipple ran around 200 total now is about 140. I eat the same but assume this is just the result of not absorbing fats like I used to with all my pancreas. Also, curious if anyone has attributed any negative side effects to long term use of Omeprazole or has tried to simply not take it? @ch1co2, a total cholesterol reading below 200 is good. You and your doctor are happy with the total cholesterol of 140 since your Whipple, right?
