I started my osteoporosis journey with a compression fracture of my spine so I’m went to an Orthopedic doctor. He ordered I MRI after seeing my poor dexa scan and checked it out to see if anything else was going on. He very quickly prescribed Tymlos quickly and I’ve taken it almost 3 months. I’ll go back for a 3 months checkup soon. My Rheumatologist also takes an interest in my bones and offers suggestions for exercises.
Are you comfortable sharing your DEXA scores here? I am wondering how low they need to be to produce a compression fracture. That fracture sounds painful. Was it? Thank you.

@barbaradh there is no absolute known value of DEXA scores to produce a fracture. Some fracture with osteopenia and some never fracture with a -4.0. It depends on so many other things- bone quality as well as bone density, balance, how we move, what we do, etc.
