Which Mayo Clinic to contact?

Posted by hg317 @hg317, Nov 14, 2022

My boyfriend has an orthopedic problem in his right arm, he has already had 9 surgeries, will no positive results. He has been to the top hospital where we live for 6 of those surgeries and has been told they have no more ideas and they don't know what else to say other than this will be the rest of his life (no use of his right arm). He is an auto mechanic, loves his work, just wants and hopes to get back to it. I am trying to figure out which Mayo clinic I should contact, We live in SouthEastern Nebraska. Do they have a general number that covers all of them, where I can give a run down of the situation and they can decide which clinic we should go to??

Hi @hg317, which Mayo Clinic location you choose is a personal choice. that is a personal choice. Mayo experts work together across campuses so you will receive the same great care regardless of the location you choose. You choice may be influenced by proximity, weather, insurance coverage, specialization, etc. Obviously, the Minnesota campus is the closest for you. But you may prefer to go to a warmer location like Arizona or Florida. Maybe you have family or friends close to one of the locations. Etc. etc.

I suggest you fill out the online form, choosing one of the locations that you think would suit you best to start with. Filling out the form, gets you a timeslot to speak with a coordinator. Once you get to speak with the coordinator, you can tell them that you are open to being seen at any location.
