Where to start for newly diagnosed advance prostate cancer
My dad 82 was diagnosed last week with prostate cancer with high PSA 100 and GLEASON: ( 4 + 4 ) = 8 / 1 0 , he had the
PET Ga-68 PSMA image Friday and today we found out the result is stage 4 Metastatic lesions in the bone pelvic area.
They want him to start radiation 25 sessions and chemo pills of Casodex 50 mg 28 pills. For now and mentioned an injection on the last day of radiation.
I’m lost on weather this is right for him we’re looking for second opinion he is currently overseas (Turkey )and this has caught us all off guard.
The doctors where he is asked to start treatment immediately and I agree but I’m still looking in bringing him here Any recommendations to where I should take him herein the US. I’m in the DMV area Washington DC and open to suggestions based on your feedback it help direct to the best place he could receive the care he needs. For his condition.
I have read a couple of posts and interested in the new drug Pluvicto (Lu 177) would this have a special requirement to be eligible for treatment or is it available upon prescription to patients who need it as it’s relevantly new I’m not sure about availability?
I highly appreciate feedback and recommendations. .. to get the ball rolling

How is your dad doing?
Thank you Colleen, do far he is doing well and is managing Finne he started radiation sessions 3 days ago and has 2 more to go he feels fatigued and weak but he feels less pain in his bones. He will take Eligard and then some tests to determine the chemo that’s my concern if he will be ok and the side effects for his age he has lost significant amount of weight and trying to see what his dietary restrictions are.
So much is going on and this has changed our lives.
Thank you so much for asking this means so much
So my dad had finished his first round of radiation following that he had an extremely long period of diarrhea that postponed his chemo was admitted for vital care and diarrhea control he has lost a lot of weight and has been receiving blood transfusion twice in a 15 day period with his so low anemia… any feed back on similar situation he now is going to start on Xtandi 40 ml and Xgeva 120 the dr recommend as she pushed back chemo due to my fathers current health conditions.
