When does the pain end or lighten up after total knee replacement?
I am 3.5 months since my knee replacement and I'm still experiencing pain and spasms. Also, the replacement clicks/catches on the outer back part of the knee. Is this all normal or anything to worry about? How do you handle the pain?

@covidstinks2023 Do you remember the old Cosco kitchen step stool? In the 1950's it seemed like every home had one!
My Mom used one in the kitchen for a year after knee replacement before it got sent back to the basement. Before the days of joint replacement, my Grandma could have not have done all of her cooking, canning and baking without hers. I remember her sitting with bowls of tomatoes in her lap, peeling and directing us.
Maybe you need something like it?
PS It did triple duty, also serving as a seat at the table for the youngest kid, and as a safe way to climb to the top of the old cupboards or to change a light bulb.

@sueinmn thank you for the encouragement.
@covidstinks2023 thank you for your prayers. I am active and it is making me slow down and I have a hard time not being able to move like I feel I should. I am hoping you feel 100 percent soon!
@steveinarizona tendon recovery, a challenge- absolutely! 👍

1 Reaction@danettef I totally understand. I feel the same way. The movement is much better, but, I
have a ways to go. It is teaching me patience with myself! We will get there.
Happy 4th and blessings.....

1 ReactionKeep up the PT and exercises at home. This too shall pass
@sueinmn oooh, I want one! And in that green color. 😍
We had a red one growing up.
@naturelyn Ours was blue, my Grandma's was yellow and each of my aunts had a red one. We finally has to "rehome" Mom's after some strokes, because she was still climbing too high.
I sure wish there was room for one in my little kitchen.
Hello @danettef,
I combined your discussion with an existing discussion titled:
"When does the pain end or lighten up after total knee replacement?"

@irishtrish posed this original question and many members shared their experiences with ongoing pain and when it subsided.
@danettef, how is your range of motion? Are you progressing with your physical therapy? We all heal so differently and look for even modest improvement as time goes on. How is your mobility doing?
