When do side effects of anastrozole begin?
I will be starting my first day on anastrozole and wanted to know when I should expect to see any side effects. Also, what time of day is best to take it?

You and I have similar stories. I stopped Anastrozole last Sunday- symptoms are still here. Meeting with my Onc later today.

1 ReactionJoint pain started almost 10 yrs after starting anastrazole. Side effects from 1 injection of prolia after stopping anastrazole were severe. Balance was very affected, could not walk on grass without losing balance. Have a little osteoporosis now, took 1 infusion of reclast and again very bad side effects. 101 fever, joint pains, headache.

1 ReactionI have been on it for 9 months. I have joint pain in my right thumb. I talked to my oncologist and she said it can cause carpet tunnel. I am enduring it right now, sure don’t want surgery!
@green1 The lack of estrogen (anastrozole depletes estrogen) is what’s causing the pain. People that have stopped it say they go back to feeling their normal selves within days of discontinuing.
