What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@artscaping We have photos on a stick [actually two]. Meds are kept in two containers in the cabinet, grab and go. Good idea on grabbing a utility bill to show we live here.

@peach414144 its so nice to hear from you again! I love how you can go outside mid-day and bask in the sun. Winters and your anemia must be difficult, i imagine. Hopefully you live in a sunny place!

Ahhhh! Winters. It is like I am on another planet. Three to four layers of clothing. Leaving the house is a challenge. Keeping the heating pad close to me on the couch is mental security. After a while it is just another way of living. Thank you for caring and pray for the others with whatever they are suffering from. This site is good for so many.

@gingerw I would be a nervous wreck living like you do. When I heard of the heat out your way I wondered how things are-now I know. Take care and I can tell you are prepared or as much as one can be under the circumstances.

@artist01 @ess77 @peach414144 @avmcbellar @jakedduck1 and our other regular visitors to What’s outside your picture window… While we’re sharing our favorite pet pics, here’s my baby boy, Riley. He passed away 5 years ago and is greatly missed. He filled our hearts and days with so much joy. He was super intelligent, had a crazy sense of humor and had equal voting rights in the family unit. LOL

Taking time out for a personal day of celebration today! It’s my 2nd re-birth day after my successful bone marrow transplant! If I could still do cartwheels and backflips without inflicting serious bodily harm I’d be putting on a show worthy of the Olympics!! 😂

@loribmt Happy second anniversary! Wishing you a great year as you move on to your third. The picture of Riley is beautiful. He looks like an amazing dog. I'm sure you miss him.

Thank you! It’s been an amazing journey but worth the effort!
Riley was just an extraordinary dog. We rescued him from a bad life at the age of 11 months. He was so loyal and loving. The picture I posted…he’s sitting on the dock waiting for my husband to return from Kayaking. It’s my absolute favorite pic.

The past few days I've had some beautiful daylilies bloom near my bird feeder. I saw a little hummingbird around them yesterday but wasn't quick enough with the camera.

@loribmt I have a rescue cat who was so frightened when I first adopted her. She would hide underneath the recliner and had to be coaxed out with food or treats. Now she is queen of the house and is so loving and sweet.

It’s such a wonderful bond when we give these amazing furry babies a safe haven. Rewarding for both sides. I’m so happy she is strutting her stuff around the house now! Cute!
