What tests and scans were ordered before you had your salvage RT ?
I have some general idea, but would like to hear your experience. I know that it depends of many factors but still, there must be some consensus of what needs to be done ?
Did you have bone density test done?
MRI ?
PSMA is probably always involved ?
Base testosterone level ?
Thanks so much to all in advance 💗

I had my prostatectomy done in 2006. I then had salvage radiation done to my prostate bed in 2013 when my PSA rose to 0.22. I then had 39 radiation treatments. The PSMA scan was not around as of yet. Just bone scans and CAT scans. Which showed negative.

2 ReactionsMy RP was in March 2022. First post-op PSA in June 2022 was undetectable, however the second in Sept 2022 was 0.5. Salvage radiation with ADT (6 months) was prescribed. First steps for me were PSMA and testosterone check. Neither my urologist nor radiation oncologist mentioned a bone density scan nor MRI. As my PSMA was negative, salvage radiation was done to my former prostate bed as well as the pelvic lymph nodes. Radiation was completed in February 2023. My PSA has been undetectable since that time.

4 ReactionsI don't know what else will be ordered but right now I am just seeing psa and the psma scan the day prior to meeting with radiologist. They may be waiting for the initial order for full blood work and bone etc.
