What supplements have helped osteoporosis

Posted by joglow @joglow, 2 days ago

Just found out I have osteoporosis in left hip. Don't want to take expensive meds so am wondering what supplements have help improve bone loss.

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that you do not have health insurance to cover or help with the cost of those meds? Or is it something else?

@joglow If you type "osteoporosis supplements" in the Search box at the top of the screen you will find many results where this topic is discussed in other Discussions.

What does your doctor recommend for medication? For supplements?

@naturegirl5 she only talked about men's. I told her I wanted to do more exercises, walking and continue calcium citrilate and vit. D.

I've been on foxamax but gave me heartburn. The injections are tier 3 drugs with my Medicare insurance and I'm sure they are not affordable for me

@joglow

Do you have original Medicare and a supplemental?
You my want to explore this further with your endocrinologist and/or the billing dept at his/her office.
