What really helps feet with neuropathy

It’s really frustrating not to know if a false AI response with a real Doctor is legitimate. Scary

Upon diagnosis, my neurologist said there was nothing he could for it. He ordered Gabapentin, I took it three weeks. It made me loopy and masked the pain but did nothing for the neuropathy,
I researched neuropathy and found a chiropractor certified in neuropathy. I do two treatments twice daily: ReBuilder electrical stimulation and Anodyne infrared lights, In addition, two supplements of Vasopro and Greensberry. At first I had biweekly chiropractor visits consisting of manipulation, spinal decompression. Vibration platform, and Denner Roll which are helpful.

Now I have weekly visits. It was pricey, but I wasn’t screaming in pain. Again, it manages the pain.

I am contemplating ordering Neuro Salt, developed by Dr OZ. The ads say it cures neuropathy.

@smueller19 I checked on Neuro Salt. It sounds wonderful, but it's a scam. DR. Oz has nothing to do with it.

I went to a chiro last week who has a 3 prong approach. Vibration board, red light therapy and foot bath w, tens unit for stimulation. All three therapies done at home daily. The catch is the cost of the equipment. He says people have success with this. I'm here doing research. My feet feel like I'm wearing sand shoes.

Anyone hear of anything like this???
I've seen all kinds of vibration boards
Haven't found a tens unit for a foot bath
What I understand from the red light therapy is that there isn't anything that is "affordable" that has the wattage to do any deep tissue work.

@smueller19 I had the same experience. The chiropractor was a game changer when I was in screaming pain. I personally don’t think there is a ‘cure’ for neuropathy although I do believe that nerves can regenerate and repair.

No cure..pills wont work if you are unfit in the first pace...BUT!!! you can relieve pain by plunging your feet where possible into a cold box ( like a camping picnic box ) of cold water...even better if you can put ice into it... The cold 'numbs' the nerves and you will get some respite for a lot of the day...
I do it everyday in my sports centre where we have a cold water plunge pool ..ordinary tap water and during the winter its f..king cold! but the relief far outweighs the initial cold shock...out of the sauna a into plunge...there are loads of us the couldn't live as well as we do without this simple regime
Who am I? October 2023 completed with my hiking buddy the French Camino Frances ...not the short one the big 800k over 32 days one ..I am 82....got back to uk then hit by PN diagnosed in February 24....my crime is wine and lots of it ...no diabetes Neurologist said your choice , so stopped drinking but now drink again but leas and have the PN under good control Try cold water ITS CHEAP!!! and works quicker than pain killers....have other tips using viagra generics too!!

my feet feel the same way and it is aweful. sometimes I can't hardly stand it. It feels like I have on some socks that is really tight and pulling my toes. I rub my feet down with strokes and it seems like it takes the pressure off of my toes at night. Does your toes feel like they are tight? praying for everyone. God Bless All. Fay

REPLY

Yes, my toes sometimes feel like they could fall off. Like there are rings around them. Or socks on each toe. Mud shoes that have dried is the best way to describe them.

At night there's burning. I'm just curious if anyone has tried this 3 technique method at home.

Have you tried alpha lipoic acid supplements good brand like Source Naturals at a nature store? I was told if you take this supplement on an empty stomach for an hour within 3 to 4 weeks you will see improvement plus good medical grade complex B vitamins as we get older we lose a lot of B12 - I had my B12 checked and was in the middle normal range - last year I was in the high normal so apparently its ok for me to take it as it went down but was told we pee out the excess so am ok with taking it - it is also good for our nerves - but try and get a good medical grade - I can tell you what brand I use if you want to take it. Good luck. I go the supplement route with this - one time I was in such pain all over I was in a panic state - I took a tranquilizer and it all went away - as I hear anxiety can make it worse. But I am not diabetic but do hear if you are not diabetic you have a milder case. Hope this is true. I am 82.
