What is this feeling?

Posted by beats32 @beats32, Nov 7, 2023

I feel like I have a hair stuck in my vagina. Yup. Like that irritating feeling when you have an eyelash in your eye. It's not constant, but there's a lingering annoying feeling down there, and every once in a while I get this sudden, sharp, hair-is-stuck-somewhere-it-doesn't-belong feeling. I've been to urgent care - UTI test was negative. Yeast was negative. All of my paps have been normal and no HPV. Doctor did a pelvic exam and didn't note anything unusual. No weird smells or discharge. No chance of pregnancy. Any ideas?!?

Hi Beats32,
What an awful situation to be in! I've never had anything like that but periodically I do get sore areas in my vagina. I apply Neosporin ointment in my vagina and all around it. The soreness goes away with that procedure. Also sometimes taking a mild over the counter medicine like Ibuprofen will help relax your body so you may not feel that sensation. Prayer also works! God made you and he can fix you! I will say a prayer for you.

Could this be vaginal dryness ? are you near the age of menopause ?

Well you might have a hair there. When you get older you get hair in places you never had before. Have a look. Also try using. Vagifem or other topical estradiol ointment.

If you are in or approaching menopause, it could be vaginal dryness. You’d be amazed at how much trouble vaginal dryness can cause!
You can use coconut oil for this. Also, estrogen cream twice a week.

@susanfalcon52 Isn't that the truth! And all my doctors only would ask/talk about hot flashes! So many more things to menopause!

Have you tried a small douche with water & vinegar? Also have you gotten a large mirror and bright light to look to see if you notice anything; a small mole or bump or even a discharge?
Have you looked at your panties to see if there is a loose thread that could be rubbing against it?
I hope you find an answer as it sounds annoyingly aggravating.

Thank you! Im' 36 and I don't think I'm peri-menopausal, but dryness could definitely be the issue. It's like an annoying paper cut sensation. Waiting on an appointment with a Urogynocologist.

Thank you for your reply. I haven't tried a douche. I can't really tell if it's inside my vagina or urethra, but the sensation typically occurs after going to the bathroom, although sometimes it's completely random.

Thats odd…. I hope you discover whatever it is.
