What is normal! Must wait months to see specialist?
I was put on 15 mg of prednizone and felt well enough to go on holiday. However started massive cramping in hands and legs. Sometimes ankles seem like rubber and will not support me. I am on waiting list (months long) to see a rheumatologist. I have no idea if this is all normal or should it be gone? Do I need to find someone and what about big dark circles under my eyes?

15 mg prednisone only took the edge off my pain. Although pain in my hips is my wake up call every morning, I feel pain all day long after a trip to the grocery store or doing too much around the house. I'm not sure if that's because I'm losing strength and my muscles hurt more after activity or my symptoms aren't the classic morning pain that every website describes. I walk with a cane because I'm afraid that a hip or a knee will refuse to support me. That happened to me in the beginning and I almost fell. I started 25mg today so I'm hoping to feel better in the next few days. It seems from everyone's story that symptoms are different, optimal dosage is different and results are different.

1 ReactionContact your GP or whoever diagnosed your PMR and referred you to a rheumatologist. They may be able to speed up the process or you may hit the point where an ER is your best bet.
