What is happening to me?
Over the last few months, I have been getting dizzy, lightheaded with a loss of balance (I have fallen a couple of times), coupled with severe eye pain (not a headache, but what feels like very painful eye muscle strain). I also have tingling in my hands sometimes when these symptoms occur.
I went to the emergency room and they said I was dehydrated. Apparently, my blood pressure plummeted when I sat up or stood up (they tested this several times while I was there). I did feel better after IV fluids, but the symptoms keep coming back. I drink only water and I drink A LOT every day. These symptoms always go together too. I don't know what is happening to me.

You would benefit from seeing a neurologist for evaluation, testing and imaging. You may need a MRI of your brain and cervical spine. It sounds like symptoms I have had and mine were tied to my cervical spine. My spinal cord and nerve roots were compressed and causing symptoms in my head, neck, arms/hands, etc.

When you drink water, make sure to have at least half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. For example, if you weigh 130 pounds, you would want to have at least 65 ounces of water each day, preferably with electrolytes. My teen son needs electrolytes added because he has a heart condition and his cardiologist recommended electrolytes because they help your body better retain the water in your body. I buy LMNT brand electrolytes and add half of each packet to a large 32-40 ounce bottle (it is too salty to have the one packet in one bottle). Give that a try to see if it helps you with hydration.
If you had the COVID injection or infection, you may have your nervous system and blood pressure affected. My son didn’t get the injection but he had the Covid infection 2 times and gets lightheaded, dizzy, etc. when he stands up too fast (he is 6’ tall at 15 so his height makes it hard for his blood to reach his brain when he stands up too quickly). His cardiologist said to get up more slowly and get more exercise (he plays too many video games and watches YouTube videos on his phone more than he should). Reducing screen time is important to not strain your eyes and ensure you get good sleep.
You may want your doctor to check your bloodwork (neurologist can do this, too) to make sure you don’t have any deficiencies or toxicities of vitamins/minerals, or abnormal levels. Are you a vegetarian or vegan? Do you take a multivitamin or B12/iron supplement?
Make sure whatever doctor you see next takes the possibility of orthostatic hypotension seriously and tests you for that. Best wishes and prayers for healing.
