What is a healthy diet?

I read a series of articles in The NY Times on ultra processed foods including what they are, how to figure out what is ultra processed and better alternatives. I have read the labels for all packaged foods in the grocery store for years but some ingredients are a mystery to me.

TrueFood was recommended in one of the articles. Here you can learn more about ultraprocessed foods so that you can work on choosing foods with less processing. The website provides ratings and recommendations.

Thanks Helen, I was just talking to my wife about this topic and appreciate your reference link. I have been reading food labels for quite a few years trying to make changes and now my bride has finally seen a little light 🙂 and asked me how to recognize the good from the bad food ingredients.

It crazy how many of products I used that I thought were good alternatives to something else, but they are loaded with unhealthy additives

@denisestlouie I'm with you on that! I thought I knew a lot more about processed foods than I actually did. The TrueFood website has been helpful.
