What have you created lately?

Posted by alive @alive, 1 day ago

I love working on creative projects! Over the years I have done gourd art, calligraphy, cross stitching, made purses and bags from recycled jeans and have created locker hooking tapestries.

This week I have been attending virtual arts and crafts workshops and have learned so much! Since I am working on a lot of projects made from recycled clothes, I especially enjoyed a workshop on making a landscape picture out of fabric. Here’s the piece I have just finished. It’s only 5x7, but it was a lot of fun making it.

I hope others will share their latest projects!

@alive Hat great picture - and a new way to recycle. Have you used the long stitch (or Sashiko) technique before? I will eventually post my picture of the angel I am creating from an old rice bag, recycled fabric and long stitch.

My current favorite medium is water color - I am practicing drawing and painting realistic birds.

I have been writing silly "Dad Jokes" and submitting videos of me telling them to a local TV station.
So far, two of them have been on the air.

As I've said, you work your whole career, nobody cares. Write goofy jokes, they put you on TV!

Hello everyone. I paint almost every day. I use either acrylic watercolor or alcohol inks. So I try something new all the time. I try to replicate what I see. It doesn’t work out but that’s OK. Everything I do is just for fun I don’t have to be serious about one thing about nothing. I just sit when I need to relax and spend hours in my painting room doing a little bit of dabbling in metallic watercolors that’s my new thing. I tried it on black paper. I thought it would be good on black but no, I didn’t like it.

This one wasn’t finished.

This is my first time doing this kind of stitching. I attended Making Zen online retreat this week and found it overwhelming everything I learned. Can’t wait to incorporate it in my other projects!

Can’t wait to see the angel you are working on!

The black background makes the painting look magic! I love how the tree is almost transparent. You will need to show your picture again when you are finished!

I too try to use a hobby I enjoy to help others. Mainly crochet blankets for Project Linus which supplies handmade blankets to hospitalized and other needy children.

I've been studying songwriting and am getting better at it. Now, thanks to AI, I can "sing" halfway decently and as a male or female.
