What happens to biopsied cells?

Posted by paulcalif @paulcalif, Mar 3 8:46am

I had a biopsy done in my doctors office with just ultra sound. No MRI fusion or any of that. I just read someone suggesting getting a decipher test done using the cells from the biopsy. Does pathology typically keep those cells for some period of time, or do they test then discard?

By Federal law the cells are kept. (frozen) Your doctor will order the decipher through the lab where the samples were first examined. Call your doctor's office and you'll have results within about two weeks.
