What happens after questionnaire is submitted ?

My daughter's neurologist sent in a referral to the neurology dept and they sent me a link to complete the questionnaire, which I submitted yesterday. What happens next in the process and how soon do you typically get notified after completing the questionnaire? Thanks!

I was contacted by phone after 3days. We went through my questionnaire and financial info. It turned out I had to change my insurance plan in order to be accepted. It was a hassle, but I was able to do it in a couple of weeks. After I did that and re-contacted their financial counseling folks and got ok'd, I was transferred to scheduling. I'm to be seen in their bronchiectasis/pulmonary clinic and was put on a list. I now have an appointment in July. I filled out the questionnaire in mid March. Hope all goes well for you.

Thanks so much. Wow I was told that they never book appointments more than 3 months from the time that you are accepted so that is way longer than I was told. Maybe it's because your insurance situation delayed things but still that's an awfully long wait. I'm glad you were able to get it all straightened out. I hope everything goes well for you too!

I think every department has its own patterns. In pulmonology they schedule 12 weeks out. I was on a wait list until my turn came up within the 12 week window. Once you have your callback conversation I think you’ll have a better idea what to expect from neurology. Good luck!

As @jml6812 said, it depends on dept. Most depts at Mayo only book appts 2-3 months out. If there are no available appts in next few months, then you are in the queue for when they open up a future month for scheduling. When they open up a new month, the schedulers start filling it in with rechecks or people on waiting list. Example, I had an order for endourology recheck scheduled for June, in March I got portal message to call and schedule that appt.

This can vary depending on urgency and availability.

Hope you hear something this week.
