What does Unilateral hypertrophy of the tensor fascia lata muscle mean

Posted by normaprice2003 @normaprice2003, 1 day ago

I have a large lump on the outside top right thigh which sometimes aches. I've noticed the leg doesn't walk the same as my left and sometimes I get sudden weakness in it.

Is there a fix?

This is the diagnosis MRI report

Underlying the marker there is moderate asymmetric enlargement of the right
tensor fascia lateral muscle. No intramuscular significant signal abnormality.
The left tensor fascia lata appears within normal size.

Mild right trochanteric bursitis. There is mild tendinosis of the right gluteus minimus and medius tendon insertions on the greater trochanter. Right common
hamstring tendon is normal.

There is mild atrophy and fatty infiltration of the right gluteus minimus and medius tendons. This appears relatively symmetric.

Hip joints are aligned. Bony pelvis demonstrate relatively normal signal.

Vascular structures appear normal. Pelvic organs appear within normal.

IMPRESSION:
Unilateral hypertrophy of the right tensor fascia lata muscle. This is causing pseudomass effect. This can be related to radiculopathy/denervation and altered gait mechanics.

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I have. I'm disappointed that the the lump never goes away but pain management can be achieved.
