What do you wish you knew before your fibroid surgery?

Hi all! I am having surgery in late January to remove uterine fibroids. This is my first surgery as an adult and I'm a bit nervous. As I prepare for the surgery and to convalesce in Rochester for 3-4 weeks, I'd love to know, for those who have had this procedure, what you wish you knew or had done or had prepared for? All comments -- from the smallest or mundane details to big considerations -- are welcome. For further context, I will also be mostly alone and will utilize a nursing agency for the first week or so.
