What do you do when medicine fails?

Posted by Msdodo987 @msdodo987, Nov 25, 2012

I often wonder why we have become so depended on drugs for everything, even the small things. I had a friend that would take pain meds because they sad they had a headache.
But what if we didn't have these meds? Would our lives be better or worse?

Hi Msdodo987 That's a really interesting point . Years ago they just didin't have the medications that are out there today and just had to cope with things. Back in my younger days and I'm know in my fifties we took aspro for headaches. Anitibiotics were also very limited. So a really great thing to discuss about because we managed then, back in my Mum's era they had far more limited medications. Me myself I think that our lives in many ways would be better without the dependency What do you think? Take care Piglit

It's both a good and bad thing that we have come so far with medicine. I mean thirty years ago they wouldn't have been able to do a lot of the things that they can do now. It's just hard when you see a family member or friend depending on drugs for every little thing when they could probably find a non-medicated route.

so true medicine has come along way and it keeps me here today with a blood thinner that I need to stay on for the rest of my days. Advancement has also been made with many herbal alternatives that were not so available many years ago. Hope that your friend is okay. Take care Piglit
