I have the "sizzling" and I was told that it is tinnitus? I have it all the time and it is very annoying and distracting!

I've had high pitched tinnitus for years, but just recently started hearing a continuous shhhh sound. Maybe the same thing you described as sizzling. I didn't think to mention it to my neurologist yesterday, but I will next time I talk with him.

Ask if any meds might do this. Gabapentin?

I'm very curious about this myself. Tinnitus started for me around twelve years ago. A little louder over the years. I can hear it in both ears, spatially. But more and more so recently, I've been having a sizzling, dissolving noise that occurs, to me, in the frontal lobe, slightly right. That's how I experience it. It's definitely not the noises I hear in either ear. I notice more when going to bed and especially in the morning waking up and laying in bed. I run a fan and generally cover and ignore my tinnitus. But this noise and its location, I cannot do that with. It's a bit concerning because of that. My first hope is like what you're asking, what is it?

Tinnitus is not necessarily heard in the ears. I have had tinnitus for many years all day and all night. Sometimes it feels like the sound is coming from the back of my head. At other times from my ears. This sneaky ailment comes in so many sounds in one or both ears, from inside the head or sounding like noise outside the head or ears. Sometimes it is soft other times loud and other times almost unendurable. It’s all tinnitus.

I hear a ‘sizzlin’ type sound, most of the time, and sometimes it seems louder than at other times! The Doctor’s tell me that it is tinnitus! I’ve had this for many years. I believe what brought it on, is that I worked in a high noise environment, an automobile factory, with lots of loud machinery for many years. Although I used ear plugs for many years, it still was noisy. I am retired now, and live in a town, far away from big factories, and big noises! The only way I can cope with it, is to tune it out. Like some other people, I use fans at night, when sleeping. I have lost some hearing, again, probably because of the noise I was exposed to, for many years! I play music, on tv or radio, during the day! That helps me cope with the tinnitus. It is not an easy ailment to live with at times, so I certainly understand why so many people have difficulty when dealing with tinnitus.

Hi!!!
I can totally relate to your problem, because l have the same. Have you tried Lipoflavonoid??? I have been using it, and my problem disappeared. I do not, however, have damage due to being exposed to loud noises

Take care...Maybe this will help!!
