What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

In 2011 the first immuno- drugs ( those ending in “mab” ) were introduced and there were two. At the current time, there are some 60 for all kinds of cancers, and some 1200 are in trials. ( I got this from a video put out by I think Harvard medical school). This means in any given year a new one could become available for someone where none existed before. So much progress is being made in this field, and it really is the future of cancer research and treatment.

2 ReactionsYes, "forever meds" for me as well. Instead of feeling sorry for myself over the side-effects, I try to remember how amazing it is to have these available. Both of my primary cancer meds are so new that they weren't even in the Ontario drug formulary yet when I was diagnosed in 2021.

9 ReactionsGood news for you too @northoftheborder !!! I agree with your thinking!
I just passed my 4th anniversary of very aggressive recurrent breast cancer in my chest wall and at that time they also finally diagnosed my decades of mysterious 50+ lung tumors and respiratory issues as lung NETs and DIPNECH. I’m on forever meds for both cancers and so far so good. Still enjoying life! 🥰
In the dog joy category, I was able to love on someone’s adorable 4 month old German Shepherd puppy yesterday!

3 Reactions"I celebrate every day."
Me too! Whether I have 100 days left or 10,000, I plan to appreciate every one. In just over a month it will be my three-year anniversary of being diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, and I'm still going strong.

4 ReactionsThe web site doesn't have enough reactions available to do your news justice, so I'll supplement them with a stock photo of a party dog.

7 ReactionsBeautiful Husky! My daughter has an "Aurora" also. She calls her Rora and I think she probably gets the same reminders that Rory gives you 🙂. I just have to be careful Rora doesn't knock me down being friendly when my daughter brings her over. It brings me joy to see her with my daughter.
