What brought you joy today?

If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:

1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

@scottbeammeup, so you're the culprit behind those boring manuals... 😠 ...just kidding...
Just so you know, I do appreciate the manuals, and I read or refer to them when I need to. And I usually find them helpful. 👍🏼

I plan to do some free lance contracting as well. I'm a tech and business writer so there's always work. Those boring manuals you get with software, appliances, etc. I write those. I'm also a master at writing speeches for high level corporate people that sound important but don't say much of anything. 😃

My Oncologist ordered a genetic testing for me, had a consult, blood drawn. Well the doctor who did the testing called yesterday and said they tested 73 somethings and they came back normal. Not sure what this all means but he said it's good news and I'm going to run with that, Good news is always a good feeling. I have monthly meeting with my Oncologist next Tuesday and of course my wife will be with me to ask any questions. I feel good. Best to all.

Congratulations! I've been forced into semi-retirement this year because my employer is scaling back on part-time work (I'll still be affiliated, but doing only the occasional project). Since I enjoy my work, it feels a bit too early to stop working at age 60, though I'd already been thinking of a change. I'm taking a couple of months to reset before I start looking for new consulting contracts.

I had decided last July that I would retire the end of the year. Been a little over one week and I'm realizing how really good this is, don't really have any big plans outside of really enjoying how this feels and enjoying spending the whole day with my wife, really enjoying this. Best to all.
