What brought you joy today?

Posted by northoftheborder @northoftheborder, Jun 28, 2024

If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:

1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

I don't always realize it at times, but I know I was down for a while, guess that's why we call it a roller coaster. Today I feel so much better. I get it, it's cancer, nobody said it would be an easy ride. I'm in a good mind set today, also, I did a small project in the garage, yes before it wouldn't of taken as long, but it did make me feel good. Also rake a small pile of leaves left over in the back and brought down to the street for pick up. I like to come here to share and at the same time its rewarding to myself. A big shout out to North for coming up with the idea. It helps all of us. Best to all.

Another clean 3 month lymphoma screening (scan and labs) and a good visit with my hematologist. Lunch with one of my best friends to celebrate. Slowly beginning to rediscover my piano and rebuild my playing skills. Life is good….so grateful.

Went to lunch with my brother and spouse. My other brother is bringing me a hat and sweatshirt from Alaska where they went to visit their son. I've been there 3 times but never bought a hat. I wear hats all the time now because all my hair fell out from the chemo!

Wow! You must be very talented! I had never heard of this song so I listened to it on You Tube. It's a beautiful song but I could see where it would take a lot of talent to play it; let alone memorize it! I love guitar music but I've mostly been
listening to the Buck Owens/Johnny Cash variety much of my life. But this song was very nice. Congratulations on memorizing it!

I hope you will get to your gardening this year at whatever scale works for you from container gardening to filling a garden with colorful flowers. The wonderful thing about gardening is that is something that can be enjoyed and appreciated by those who do the gardenng as well as those who derive pleasure from seeing, smelling and tasting the fruits of your labor.
