What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

We could sure more teachers today with that same mindset. Preparing others for their future and putting them by name in the presence of our Lord.

4 ReactionsThank you for your kind words and good wishes. On the last day of school for all of my classes through the years I would tell my students that they were in a special group, “my former students.” Because of this status they would be prayed for every day.

6 ReactionsSo beautifully said! I was also a teacher for 35 years and I can identify lifting all of my past students up to God. Wishing you complete healing.

2 ReactionsI had my first sip of coffee this morning and experienced joy. The tree outside my window represents all the students I ever taught (fifty years) and I lift them up to God. They are a beautiful comfort to me during my cancer journey, three years so far and on chemo weekly. I love trees and the creatures that live in them. I have dedicated trees for all my family members as well…I am surrounded by love and beauty.

4 ReactionsWhen I used to take prednisone I not only couldn’t sleep a wink, but I shook like crazy, heart palpitated and I felt horrible. My pulmonologist switched me to methylprednisolone and I didn’t have those issues but it was just as effective. Even though similar meds, he said people tend to tolerate one better than the other — different for each person. He was right! If it’s too late to switch this time, write down the name to try next time you need it. Hope that change works for you too.
