Weird Outer Ear (Antitragus) Feeling That Destroys My Life

Posted by Sun678 @t00101, Oct 29, 2022

I have a pain in my right outer ear, in an area called the Antitragus. I had it for so long, but everyone thought it was depression. It's for sure not.

I hear sounds and feel this part of the muscle moving, and the pain stops when I press over the area.

I went to Ear doctor, pain doctor, but none currently helped. I'm sure I need to remove this part of the ear. How can I do that ? The ear doctors just don't know what is it.

@t00101 Hello and welcome to Mayo Connect. We are a community of people living with a wide range of conditions, who try to help each other along the way. I can identify with your concern about ear pain, having had it for most of my life. Once any disease of the ear is ruled out, it is time to figure out what triggers the pain. Some of my triggers are ear plugs, eyeglasses, headbands of any sort, even the very soft elastic of a face mask...
