Watching a Meningioma Brain Tumor
I've just been diagnosed with a 2cm meningioma tumor on the right front of my head. I am 59 years old and the surgeon has told me I will need to "do something" with my tumor someday since I am younger. What is the benefit of waiting?

Hello
I had a 4 cm meningioma I just had surgery to remove 6 weeks ago . I was told if it was 2 cm or less it would have been possible to get rid of it with radiation but 4 was too big. I would suggest you get scans at least every 6 months so the doctor can see if it is growing .. I found out I had the tumor when I asked for an MRI because I was getting frequent headaches but no other symptoms other then some fatigue but thought it was just tension .
Yes great advise. I’m waiting for an appointment at the Mayo. Hopefully I’ll get in fast. My Primary Care prescribed me Qulipta for the migraines. But with insurance they’re $200. My vision is horrible.
I hope all is going well for you.
Thank you!!
It’s awful to just sit and wait. Thank you.
I hope you’re ok. The doctor was a neurosurgeon in Santa Fe. So I’m waiting for an appointment the Mayo.
I know
Oops he wants to keep an eye on it.
Thank you
It’s a doctor in Santa Fe. I’m waiting for an appointment at the Mayo in Rochester. I honestly thought it was kinda crazy because it’s growing and he just wants to keep on it. He is a neurosurgeon.
Thank yiu
Who is this doctor? If it's just a neurologist I'd suggest you really need to get a consultation with a neurosurgeon.
Great advice! You definitely seem to be a person who sees the glass as "half full" rather than "half empty." Good for you! Sending well-wishes your way for your upcoming surgery.
Just my opinion, but the headaches and bad vision sound more serious than watch and wait. I would think an MRI would be more definitive. Is it something to bring up with your neurologist or even get a second opinion? Mine was near the optic nerve and I was told it needed treating before my vision started getting affected.
