Wanting info on Biologics

Hello. I don’t tolerate maintenance inhalers which I’ve tried many. Pulmonologist wants to try me on a biologic but I’m fearful of the side effects. Would anyone want to share their experience with being on a biologic? Thanks!

Some physicians have samples of Dupixent. Maybe you can try a sample or two and see if it helps. It is supposed to help within days or weeks. If it helps, then you can spend more energy trying to get qualified for a discount program.

For folks on Medicare Part D programs, starting 1/1/2025, you’re supposed to have a maximum out of pocket of $2000 for the entire year for drugs. That should even cover biologics. Check with your Medicare Part D insurer to see how to sign up for it.

To be honest I don’t know who manufactures Dupixent, I’d have to look it up. My doctor’s office is handling trying to get it for me.

It is thru Astra Zeneca. Maker of fasenrs. I was on it but 2025 is proving harder to qualify. Go to azandmeapp.com.

What insurance do you have for the fasenra? Do you use azandme for their free program?

I have Medicare/Health Alliance. My doctor’s office is checking into a copay program with the drug manufacturer for me.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. I don't know what azandme is but I am on their discount program. All you have to do is sign up.

Daughter and I who have lung and autoimmune disease have been on Xolair and Fasenra four years with no side effects. I tried Dupixent once and had neck pain/headache for two days so stopped.
