Waldenstroms: What to expect immunoglobulin infusions with rutuxan?
Been on rituxan infusions and rituxan for months now. Ugg and uga dangerously low and gum coming down but very slowly . Doc added immunoglobulin infusions and doubling prednisone. What can I expect ? Side effects?

Waldenströms for over a yearly y. Been on rituxan and Imbruvica entire time. What can I expect from immunoglobulin infusions? Expense? Side effects? How many infusions are normal? Will they be giving at same time as others? Getting a little frustrated y.. thanks to all.
I have Wm as well. Currently my doctor says it is not attacking my internal organs anywhere so we are just observing my red blood sells and iron deficiency. I also have stage 3 kidney disease so I have to watch my salt intake , limit my proteins from animals , drink water and eat veggies, veggies, veggies as per my nephrologist. My last blood test showed red blood cell count is down and iron is also down but not because of the blood cancer(WM). So ill most likely get an injection to boost my red blood cell counts and increase my iron pill intake to help boost both categories. Be well
I posted question about.Having Waldenstroms diagnosed a year ago. for a year and getting rutuxin infusions and Imbruvica and prednisone . Igg and iga very very low . Dr wants to add immunoglobulins igg I guess. What can I expect? Cost, side effects, new fusion or will it be given with rutxin tons of questions after I left office. Should I pass? A little frustrated. Thought I’d be on the mend by now.
I was given Ivig infusions last year (2 doses) and it was much easier than I'd expected. It takes a while (very slow drip the first time) as they have to be sure you don't have any reaction to the dosage, but very easy to tolerate. They gave me benadryl (or something similar) which kept any reaction at bay but also allowed for some very nice naps!
My igg numbers are always low (comes with the Splenic Marginal Zone Lymphoma) and I am only on track to get the infusions if I'm fighting an active infection, etc.
This was very helpful. Were is given as asepate infusion or with others expensive or covered by Medicare?
My husband had a lot of IGG infusions after his bone marrow transplant for lower numbers. He didn’t have any reactions to it but you knew you were in for a 3 hr stay for infusions. His numbers finally came up but they still check his numbers periodically. He still comes up with whatever virus is out there so his immunity isn’t great but at least he has 100% donor marrow and can fight some of these viruses. Get the infusions. 🙏
Thank you. So helpful
I believe mine was fully covered by Medicare - might have had a co-pay at the time but don't recall.
Thanks!
Me again.Waldenstroms for over a year with Imbruvica and Ruxience. IGM coming down way too slowly according to Dr Buth IGG and IGA almost non existent. Can prednisone becausing that? Or other meds? He just got IVG approved. Are there bad side effects? Is it costly like other drugs? WasHoping to take a trip next month to seeNew baby great grandson😌. Thoughts would be appreciated.
