Waiting on Results

Posted by bowling1 @bowling1, Jun 17, 2023

After having a needle biopsy that come back precancerous, on Thursday I had the surrounding area removed. I am now just waiting on the pathology report. When I do get the results, whether it turns out as malignant or benign, what are some questions I should think to ask?

@bowling1 I hope it is not cancer after the excisional biopsy. Atypical ductal hyperplasia is not cancer yet but may need to be dealt with. So far, good news from the needle biopsy compared to cancer.

Good luck!

Received the official biopsy report from the surgeon yesterday. Benign and all outlying factors are negative.
I've already set up my 2024 mammo screening. Thank you for all of the support and prayers. This was a journey that I did not expect to go on, and definitely feel blessed that it come out with a good result.

My surgeon explained that I need to see him 3 weeks after surgery for the pathology report .I wonder if 3 weeks is the standard across Canada ?

I’m not in Canada but my lumpectomy pathology report was posted 2-3 days after surgery. It showed up in my portal before I even saw my doctor.

My Dr. Called me about 3 days after. She called because she found a different area that didn’t show up in the MRI. She told me before surgery they would call me in that time frame either way.
