Hi. We were at MSK asking that question a few weeks ago. My husband already had two TURBTS. The second a blue light cystoscopy (TURBT). In his case the response was 3-4 weeks is optimal for his induction BCG to begin after his second TURBT. I feel this was the most qualified response since we received different responses from different providers.

I think you have to change your thought process when you find you have bladder cancer. It becomes a journey with highs and lows and always a chance it comes back. Try not to dwell on it being cancer but live each day and week. It may go away or could get worse but there are many
Options going forward We know how you are feeling.
I understand...I wonder if there is any light at the end of the tunnel . I get very discouraged. I'm looking at 6 BBG treatments and 3 maintenance. Ugg.

No, BCG, my treatments will be two chemo solutions - gemcitabine and docetaxel. My understanding is they are inserted one at a time through the catheter and I hold them in my bladder for a few hours.
Or as my hubby said this- they pour the solutions in, next you ‘gargle and swish’ then spit them out! Silly husband.
Laughter is good medicine!!
That could be what mine is. I have a hold of 2 hours...then void and pour bleach into the toliet.. yikes!! I remember doing that before...
He just said BCG. He has so many patients I don't know how he keeps track.

I absolutely hear what you are saying! I DO Yes I do believe there is light at the end of our tunnels. Let me check in again after my 3rd or 4th Chemo treatment, lol to let you know how my journey is going.
Here we go! I am taking a deep breath and pushing through this. Treatment #1 begins tomorrow Monday Dec 2. Sending good thoughts to all.

My TURBT Surgery was performed Nov 1 2024 My six treatments (Gem & Doc) are beginning on Dec 2. One treatment per week.
I am uncertain if there is a standard time frame as to when the treatments should begin.
I will mention my bladder is only now, the last few days, feeling ‘healed’ from the Nov 1 surgery.

I'm new at all this terminology. Excuse my ignorance.
