Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Mar 16, 2020

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@bookysue @lioness, The greenery: 1) Hostas are the broad leaved light green plant and 2) Day lilies or Tiger lily is the darker green thin leafed plant. Can you tell I'm itching to get into the garden. Unfortunately, I'm having the same snow and hail weather as @zeiracorp today. Sad.
So I'm watching virtual garden tours https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hidcote/features/hidcote-virtual-tours and dreaming.

Thanks — snowpeople/ dogs can be made - if enough snow. Life is now to capture joy in forgotten moments - we think as adults we cannot be a child to create snow angels/ snow cats etc. let’s see some snow art

@virgo1952 Love the geese picture . Those people took there lives in there hands . I was once chased by a MOther goose got to close to her baby . They can be fierce . Same with Black Bears up at out camp got to close to one and the Mother came out of the brush to tell me Stay away . Keep the wildlife coming . Waiting for the babies to be born .

lioness, where my daughter went to day care 34 years ago had whole collection of barn animals. They of course had Geese! They chased my wife out of the area one day when she went to pick Christy up.
But the kids didn't take any grief from them! They would just "BONK" them on the head and keep going!

It just occured to me how much this site has meant to me and done for me! It's so nice to read everyones post and pictures! Seems like all we hear about is people telling how Bad the World is and how we should be afraid to go outside! My thoughts are with our friends and family and citizens who are in the military serving in a War Zone! Sometimes they have no choice but to go out!
We all need to use our comon sense and use what this country is made of! We have fought wars defending others, we have fought wars among ourselves, but we are still the best place to live in the world! We are all of the races living together in peace and harmony!
Thank you all for everything you do for everyone who opens up this site!
You are all Life Savers to many millions of people!

@colleenyoung Tulip season in Longview. My bulbs around my pink flowering maple (birdie home) in my back yard. Always so wonderful after a warren winter. Makes me feel like Spring has arrived and Summer is coming. Yay!!!
