Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@lioness– Linda these are wonderful!

Night Blooming Cereus Cactus outside my house today. 2 years ago, we planted a cactus garden in pots over a leach field, this is the first bloom for this girl. I see at least one more bud…but this pleasure is only for early birds – the bloom is done by about 10am.

Here's something that brings a smile to my face… No, it's not in my backyard.

You are one funny man, John! Thanks for the smiles. All three look sublimely content! Is that a tree stand the third one is draped over? Miss Precious has a floor to ceiling one that she loves. She can watch the birds feeding and squirrels scooting all around through the picture window.

@fiesty76 she’s on tree stand next to a window in my computer room. She loves watching the birds, chipmunks and squirrels.

My 3 are not friends and enforce their social distancing except the new comer who is the kid on the block. My oldest cat around 15 years or so rules and she doesn't have claws but she has a really mean hiss. The other two have claws. The second in command doesn't like anyone. She will sit on my lap once in awhile and let me pet her but she is one that can purr for you and turn around and nip you in a heartbeat when she is done letting you pet her. The new kid on the block is what I call rolling thunder. She chase number 2 all around the house and looks for opportunities for sneak attacks. The old one stays upstairs in her house in the entry closet all day and sleeps with us downstairs at night. The new kid has the downstairs for her domain and number 2 has the upstairs living room for her primary domain. Of course they all come around at feeding time in the early morning and late afternoon. They each have a different location for feeding to keep the peace.

@merpreb — I like black cats too. It's hard to believe how different cultures used to treat them.

@johnbishop What a unique cat-community, John! Some are passive-aggressive and some just don't care. Cats are funny😸

@hopeful33250; @johnbishop– My 5 lb cat is the runt of the litter. SHe's very loving but hates to be picked up. Drives me nuts and she's not a good eater.
