Interesting comments. Especially the comment from @campana, saying that a neurologist said that varicose veins could be cause for PN. I have had PN for about 25 years. I've seen two primary care doctors, two neurologists and a podiatrist, and they all dismissed any possibility that my PN could be related to my varicose veins and poor blood circulation to my feet. They had no other explanation to offer. Just "idiopathic neuropathy" - and to take gabapentin.
@dougajoi varicose veins are in the circulatory system while neuropathy is a neurological condition and arthritis is an orthopedic condition. Being a suffer of PN and a retired nurse I don’t believe your VV have anything to do with your neuropathy. From your symptoms it sounds like you’ve got something else going on referencing the heaviness and walking. Have you been checked out by a doctor?
