@bethdoraine: I see you're looking for some direction on this condition that causes distressing involuntary spasms in the vaginal muscles, that can be very painful and interfere with intimate activities.

You can find some information here: https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/locations/barron/services-and-treatments/physical-therapy/pelvic-health-dysfunction.

These types of exercises are designed to help with pelvic floor dysfunction. There are physical therapists who are trained specifically in this area and generally work in conjunction with gynecologists or a subspecialty known as urogynecologists. Behavioral therapists may also be involved. Occasionally, Botox injections might be offered to treat the condition.

Some of the larger medical centers have such specialty teams. A source of additional information may be https://www.pelvicsanity.com/vaginismus.

It is a sensitive topic but have you discussed this with your gynecologist to learn more about treatment possibilities in your geographical location?
