Vaginal help..?

Posted by gracytheshark @gracythesharl, Mar 28, 2021

Hi! So I’ve my vagina has been itching and burning for about a year or two. I would have asked a doctor sooner, but I had just started my period when it started and I thought it was normal. The itching will happen randomly, not everyday. So will the burning when I pee. Sometimes, I’ll pee normally. Others, it will burn soo bad. There’s no discharge and I’m a virgin so it can’t be an STD. What do I do? And how do I ask my doctor about it? My dad makes fun of stuff like that, and I’d never be confident enough to ask in front of him.

I am so sorry you are experience this and were afraid to ask about. It might be a Urinary Track Infection (UTI). A UTI is a infection in any part of your urinary system. It has nothing to do with sexual activity and male and females both get. People of any age can get.

If it is a UTI, you need to be treated by a medical professional. Tell you dr just what you typed in your message.

You need to get this checked because it can cause long term damage.

Think of it this way, if you had an eye that itched and hurt, you would not put off seeing a dr. Think of your female genitals the same way, if something does not seem right, you need to check it out.

Good luck

In the meantime, until you can see a doctor, you might want to drink a lot of cranberry juice. The real stuff, not the juice mixture. Cranberries are know to reduce the symptoms of an UTI to some extend.
As Laurie said, an untreated UTI can cause kidney damage, so it is important to see a doctor as soon as possible. And you can tell our dad that it is time he grows up, and that he has to learn to take the health problems of his teenage daughter serious.

I hope you will get better soon

I am thinking it is likely yeast. I have difficulty with chronic yeast infections and have learned to notice the slightest "feel" of my vagina. I learned many years ago that as soon as I notice my vagina that it is already beginning. I purchase a yeast cream on Amazon where I find it cheapest. Only one of the creams does not cause me to burn. Taro Clotrimazole 7 Vaginal Cream 45 g ( Pack of 3)
Brand: GYNE-LOTRIMIN 7 DAY at Amazon is under $20 for 3 tubes. it costs that much for one tube at the drug store.

@donnacarp- Hi, I'm glad that you have settled on this. I would look up diets that help avoid Yeast infections. It's very important also not to wear tight pants and wear cotton panties. Here is a list of other things to take into consideration, and other life changes that can help prevent them.

Good luck!
