Welcome to Connect, @bobsgift. Congratulations on 22 years with your kidney, I am at 10 years with mine. I had been experiencing UTI's a few years ago, but not in the last 2 years. There was a kidney stone involved somewhere along the line, and drinking lots of water, now kidney stone is gone on scans. I had been experiencing some sharp abdominal pains, however, and when I was advised to reduce my fluid from 3 L back to 2L those have subsided. Doctor showed me a scan that was taken post transplant, it was obvious right away how crowded my lower left abdomen is with my transplanted kidney.
My transplant team always had me get a urine analysis before I took the antibiotic. Are you on a wait-and-watch or do you take antibiotics?
