Urine retention daytime

I had my gallbladder removed 1 month ago and had urine retention not being able to urinate, they tapped me the first night and i could urinate after that for a short time during the night.

Now 4 weeks later i have still problems, problem is really odd in that i can only urinate normally when i goto bed and all night until i get up.
During daytime i can drink like 6-7 glasses of water over 7hrs and just able to urinate like half a glass over these 7hrs.
I don't have any history prior to surgery having problems, it all started after surgery.
I don't either have any urge to urinate during daytime
I went to my urologist last week snd did a cystoskopy and he could not releive any obstructions, he even said my prostate is smaller than normal.
I am on alfuzosin which helps a bit.

So what is going on here, i really don't know how to proceed

Hi, @lanab, and welcome. That sounds really frustrating, especially since the problems only started after your surgery and you didn’t have any issues before.

Sometimes, when symptoms don’t seem to make sense, it can help to look at patterns and keep track of when things feel better or worse. You mentioned you can urinate normally at night but not during the day, and that you drink water during the day. It might be helpful to note any differences in how you feel or what medications you take during the day vs. during the night.

Did your urologist mention any next steps for you after your cystoscopy?
