Urinary retention after sublaminar decompression post L3-4, L4-5

Sublaminar decompression post L3-4, L4-5 on 8/3/26. Still having urinary retention requiring self catheterization. F/U MRI shows no problems with OR. Urology consult and Cysto shows only possible big bladder neck. No
Problems voiding Preop. Anyone else with this? If so how long?

dennib, cathing is miserable, but I've heard that some take 3 months to recover and that the problem is common. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11632718/ It is best to be in contact with your surgical team regarding the retention.
