Unknown impact on c8 nerve root please correlate?
I had a mri and that is what was my answer on my mri. I have yet had a doctor tell me what it meant. Has anyone else had the same happen to them?

Hello, and welcome to Mayo Connect. We are a group of people living with a wide variety of conditions who seek to share out experiences and help one another along the way. We are not medical professionals, so cannot provide medical advice.
Can you tell us a little more about what led you to having an MRI and what symptoms you may have been having? Then perhaps you will hear from a member with a similar situation.

@ericcarr I'd like to extend my welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, a place to give and get support.
It must be extremely unnerving and confusing to receive an MRI result that you cannot interpreted and that has not been interpreted for you. May I ask if you have an upcoming appointment to go over the results and/or have you considered contacting the facility for answers regarding the results?
You will notice that I added a potentially related discussion to the spine health group. I did this so you could potentially connect with members that have similar questions.
Below I have linked a source that discussed the c8 nerve and a previous related discussion on Connect. You may wish to scroll through the previous discussion for information and potential member connection.

You mentioned "impact." May I ask exactly what kind of impact, how long ago, and what kind of physical symptoms you are having?
The physician reading your MRI study is asking that the ordering physician to provide more info regarding your complaint. Although are you certain it is C8? We typically have 7 cervical vertebrae.
@jenatsky The numbering system for spinal nerves does have a C8 nerve root even though there are only 7 cervical vertebrae. I questioned that too when I saw it on my reports, but it is a normal finding.
It said unknown impact to c8 nerve root please correlate. I have yet to have a doctor tell me what that meant it was c8 t1 nerve root
This is a question that needs to be answered by the doctor who ordered the imaging. Have you contacted them directly for an explanation?
