Tymlos and family history of cancer?

I’ve been reading these helpful posts and may have made my first post in the wrong spot, so I’m posting again. I’ve just started taking Tymlos, and I’m worried about the warning about rats getting cancer. My sister has had breast cancer, and my dad died from cancer. Do you think me taking Tymlos is too risky? Would a family’s genetics affect a decision to be on Tymlos, I wonder?

As I wrote before, I myself HAD breast cancer and conceivably could still have it growing somewhere in my body, including bones. That has to do with metastasis, the spread of an original cancer to other places. So a few months ago I asked if this was a concern.

If you have a family history, and then get breast cancer while on Tymlos, you would probably get cancer only in your breast, not your bones. It isn't even relevant.

As I wrote elsewhere, the rats in the study had huge doses for a long time. I believe Forteo's black box warning was recently removed and so was the time limit- because NOONE got bone cancer from it. Tymlos is very similar. The black box warning will probably be removed from that too but it is newer than Forteo and a certain amount of time needs to go by before the time limit is removed and the black box warning as well.

This is not a realistic worry, based on family history. As a cancer patient, I am not worried nor are my doctors.

Tymlos is very helpful. Osteoporosis is a serious condition. Believe me, I have had cancer and I have had fractures, both. Fractures are so painful and disabling. Evidence is overwhelming that you are not at risk of bone cancer taking these meds for the prescribed time.
