treatment for toe tingling after microdiscectony at L5-S1
I have tingling and numbness in the toes of my right foot and on the bottom of the foot following a microdiscectomy of a an extrusion at L5-S1 in October 2025. I have seen a chiropractor who would like to treat with a 3 tiered approach. Red light therapy with a device called the "Light Doctor", nutritional supplements, and the lynchpin being a device called the "Rebuilder", which seems to be a footbath in an electrolyte solution powered by a controlled electrical current which will stimulate the problematic nerve pathways and promote healing blood flow. Anyone have experience with such an approach who could offer insight about its efficacy? Thank you!

Hello @tinglingtoes, welcome to Connect. @val11212 mentioned a similar treatment plan in the following discussion - Supplements and Home Therapy: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/supplements-and-home-therapy/. There is also a related discussion where a member had neuropathy type symptoms following a microdiscectomy. It might be helpful to scan through the discussion while you wait for members with experience to respond.

Have you done any research on the chiropractors treatment plan or looked into any alternative treatments or therapies that might help?
Interesting. I had back surgery in August of last year (2025), where they removed a fibroma on my L5/S1 vertebrae to relieve back pain. After the surgery my back pain was gone, but my left leg from the knee down to my ankle was numb, and my foot was now in constant pain, with spasmatic type jolts randomally. One year later, it is still in constant pain, medications only help slightly, a nerve block did nothing, as did a red light boot. I have tried a standard Tens unit, also with no effect, but this Rebuilder is new to me. I am curious.
