Trazodone
Does anyone have experience with Trazodone? I searched this site and got 847 results, but none in the Prostate Support group. My Primary Doctor prescribed it to me because I complained about hot flashes and sweating at night - I wake up multiple times each night and then I am tired all day. I started Orgovyx on Dec 19, and I finished 20 IMRT radiation treatments on Tuesday. The Primary Doctor said I should go back to the doctor that prescribed the Orgovyx. I do not have a urologist, and the Orgovyx was prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, who said I just need to be tougher because I quit taking it in June. I feel very tired.

My treatment with Eligard (similar to Luperon) has been over for 12 months, still no testosterone and PSA less than 0.02. I still have hot flashes, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Sometimes about an hour before bedtime, I take about a gram (1/4 tsp) of ashwagonda powder dissolved in water. It makes me drowsy and I find it easier to fall asleep. Also it's easier to fall back asleep after I get up to pee. It might not be for everyone but it works for me. YMMV.
I've was on trazadone many years ago for anxiety and low grade depression. After my RP, about a year later I needed salvage radiation along with ADT. I tried trazadone again - this time as a sleep aid. It worked fine, however during the night I would wake up with a strong/urgent need to void, and would discover that I had already leaked. Not a complete loss, but enough to create a sizable wet spot. This happened around 3-4 months after my radiation treatment was completed.
When I stopped taking trazadone, the nighttime leaking stopped (thankfully). I figured it put me in such a deep sleep, my body could not respond early enough to rouse me in time to walk to the bathroom. Although my now bladder wakes me up in plenty of time to do this, I still have an absorbent pad underneath just in case. So far, so good.

I think you are right on with the trazadone. It for me was a great sleep aid. What I noticed was it prevented my mind from racing and worrying and would fall asleep.
I have a Mayo Psychiatric medication specialist who works with me. I mentioned to her I was having very deep sleep and very vivid dreams that seemed so real. She advised yes the trazadone will cause deep sleep and dreaming as you go into a deeper sleep.
That would explain your leakage before being able to get up in time. I rarely woke up but when I was taking trazadone but when I did I really had to go. Now have been off of it for many months and I probably get up every 2-3 hours to go to urinate and sleep not so deep. I miss my vivid dreams.
